Berman Gallery is located in the heart of Old City Philadelphia, an area rich in history and culture which has become a mecca for twentieth century design and contemporary art galleries. We specialize in quality furniture and accessories from the American Arts and Crafts movement circa 1890-1920, as well as good 20th century design up through the 1960's. We handle art pottery, lighting, paintings and prints, metal work and Old Hickory furniture along with Chinese Deco and Navajo rugs. We have an extensive collection of Mission Oak furniture by makers such as Gustav Stickley, L&JG Stickley, Stickley Brothers, Limberts, Harden, J.M. Young, Lifetime, and others. Currently, we have modern 1950s pieces by craftsman\designers; Frank Lloyd Wright/Henredon, George Nakashima and Eames. Our inventory of Art pottery includes many wonderful examples of Fulper, Rookwood, Van Briggle, Roseville, Weller, Niloak, Newcomb, Grueby and others. Bob Berman has been handling Mission furniture and Art pottery for a quarter of a century and is a nationally recognized expert.

The Berman Gallery is inside the Malt House, a building dating back to the 1760s. Entrance is through the lobby where an outside buzzer is located. We are located directly across from Elfreths Alley, the oldest continuously inhabited block in the country. Berman Gallery is the largest source of Mission Furniture and Art Pottery in the Philadelphia area. We welcome you to share our knowledge and collections in a low pressure unhurried environment.

We are active members of the Old City Arts Association. We are open by appointment. We can almost always be reached by cell at (610) 659-3789 and are usually near by.
